3. KIDS TOUR – PLANICA

On Saturday, June 8, 2024, the third event of the Kids Tour series took place at the Nordic Center Planica, where young snowboarders showcased their skills and enjoyed the competitive spirit. The sunny and warm weather provided perfect conditions for an exciting day in the funcross discipline, bringing joy and unforgettable moments to the children. The competition was held in the snow tunnel, making it an ideal setting for snowboarding despite the summer heat.

At the competition organized by our Furam club, 18 children participated, showcasing outstanding performances and incredible determination. After the race, an award ceremony followed, including the overall ranking awards, where the children received the biggest trophies, bringing them great joy and excitement. However, the event was not just about competition; it was also an opportunity for socializing and fun. After the race, we organized a picnic, where the kids played, skated, and spent time together, while the parents enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The Kids Tour continues with the same passion and dedication, inspiring young athletes, fostering sportsmanship, and nurturing a love for snowboarding. The event at the Nordic Center Planica was a wonderful blend of competition, celebration, and camaraderie, creating unforgettable memories for all participants. We look forward to the upcoming competitions and new victories that will undoubtedly continue to excite young snowboarders and their families!

FAMILY SURF TRIP – Fuerteventura

During the May holiday, we organized our first FURAM FAMILY SURF TRIP to Fuerteventura, where we spent unforgettable days together. We stayed in Cotillo, which quickly became our favorite base for exploring the island.

Our days were packed with activities – we surfed, explored the surroundings, ran wild on the beaches, swam in turquoise waters, and even visited a zoo, where we were amazed by a variety of animals. We also went on a short hike to a volcano, where we were rewarded with a stunning view, and discovered the island’s hidden gems on short excursions.

Our club members, from the youngest to the oldest, successfully mastered their first surfing steps, and so did their parents, who eagerly took on the waves. Together, we created amazing memories and are already looking forward to our next family surf adventure! 🌊

Winter School Holidays 2024

During the winter school holidays, we held a 5-day course at Krvavec, where groups of young and older beginners, intermediates, and advanced riders spent time together on the snow. Despite occasional foggy weather, we completed the course with great enthusiasm and smiling faces.

We were so caught up in the action that we barely found time for photos, but we still managed to capture a few moments. Check them out below! 🙂

1. KIDS TOUR (SLOPESTYLE) – KRVAVEC

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, we hosted the first competition of this year's Kids Tour at Krvavec ski resort, with 36 children participating. We enjoyed a full day of sunny and warm weather, creating an atmosphere more like a spring session than a typical race. Before the competition, the young riders indulged in delicious buhtlji, freshly prepared by Brunarica Sonček. To cheer on our youngest competitors, we were also honored by a visit from our national team riders, Urška Pribošič and Naj Mekinc.

The competition was held in four age categories, where young snowboarders showcased their skills and creativity in the slopestyle discipline. In the girls' 2018+ category, Manca Rožman (ŠD Furam) took first place, followed by Enni Ennelin Kompare (ŠD Furam) in second and Zala Goršič (ŠD Furam) in third. Among the boys in the same age group, Nil Vilim (Deska Velenje) claimed victory, with Lan Hollan (ŠD Furam) finishing second and Tristan Klavora (ŠD Furam) securing third place.

In the girls' 2017-2015 category, Leila Grad Božič (ŠD Furam) took the victory, followed by Rima Milavec (ŠD Furam) in second place and Neja Breznik (Spank) in third. Among the boys in the same age group, Tito Suša (SBC Bled) achieved the best result, with Luka Goršič (ŠD Furam) finishing second and Luka Černe (ŠD Furam) securing third place.

In the girls' 2014-2012 category, Tiva Brumen Loboda (ŠD Furam) claimed the top spot, followed by Brina Nakrst (EŠK Mungo) in second place. Among the boys in the same age group, many young talents showcased their skills. Žiga Cigale (EŠK Mungo) secured first place, with Svit Nakrst (EŠK Mungo) finishing second and Jaka Kline (Spank) taking third place.

In the girls' 2011-2009 category, Ajda Nakrst (EŠK Mungo) took first place. Among the boys in the same age group, Luka Seifried (Spank) claimed victory, followed by Maj Ribič (Spank) in second place and Lovro Žažet (ŠD Furam) in third.

MINI Course – STRELE (January 8-12, 2024)

At the beginning of the new year, we organized an additional 5-day course for our youngest MINI snowboarders. This group of eager learners truly impressed us. Some of them were with us last year and had already mastered more advanced techniques, while the beginners successfully learned how to ride on the heel edge. By the end of the course, all of them were confidently cruising laps and riding the 4-seater lift.

Christmas & New Year Course 2023

Due to certain circumstances, we had to postpone this Christmas-New Year course by one day, but despite that, we successfully completed it surrounded by smiling participants. Our youngest talents learned to ride on the heel edge, and by the end of the course, they were cruising down the slopes. The slightly older ones practiced riding on the rollers and then bravely tried the chairlift. Najizkušenejša ekipa je pa suvereno ovladovala celotno smučišče, izpopolnjevala zavoje, skoke, drsenje po objektih, vožnjo v nasprotni smeri, ter še več.

We spent five days together, creating unforgettable moments, and eagerly look forward to our next meeting.

Pumptrack

We spent a beautiful sunny Sunday with our club members in Domžale, where we had conditioning training and explored the world of skateboarding and pumptrack. On the course, we started with a series of relay games, had fun on the zip line, and enjoyed a delicious snack. Next, we suited up with protective gear and helmets, and headed to the basketball court, where we focused on the basics of skateboarding. Once we mastered the flat surfaces, we tested our skills on the pumptrack. The kids had a great time with everything we did, while the instructors battled with the sun and heat. 🙂

6. Kids tour – Planica

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, we successfully concluded the final race of the Snowboard Kids Tour series. Young snowboarders competed in the FUNCROSS discipline. The race featured 14 dedicated competitors, divided into 6 categories (girls, boys 2017+; girls, boys 2014–2016; boys 2011–2013; boys 2008–2010). Due to poor weather conditions, the race, originally scheduled at Kanin, had to be postponed twice. In the end, we successfully held it at the Nordic Center Planica. The course included gates, two berms, and three rollers. Competitors had three runs, with the fastest time counting. After the race, which also marked the final event of the Kids Tour 2022/23 series, we announced the race winners as well as the overall series champions. The series winners received trophies. The children were absolutely thrilled and jumped for joy. To wrap up the event, we enjoyed a picnic with ćevapčići and indulged in cake. The race was special for the kids, as many of them were snowboarding in the summer for the first time, not on an open ski slope. We would also like to thank our sponsors: OBSESSION, PLEŠKO CAR, FIZIAN, SHRED, SZS, and ŠD FURAM for their support in providing the prizes.

5. Kids tour Krvavec – 19.3.2023

On Sunday, March 19th, we held the 5th Snowboard Kids Tour competition at Krvavec. This was the first competition in the discipline of SLOPESTYLE, which was attended by 35 children. We prepared an excellent course with two different levels of difficulty, featuring two obstacles and a jump (1. straight box, tube, jump, 2. rainbow box, straight box, jump). Competitors were divided into eight categories (girls, boys 2017 +; girls, boys 2014 - 2016; girls, boys 2011 - 2013; girls, boys 2008 - 2010). During both training and the competition, the children showcased various tricks and experienced some falls, all while having a great time. Throughout the day, we were mostly accompanied by sunshine and predominantly southern snow, which we had to salt a few times to ensure the snowboarders had enough speed. We extend our thanks to all the competitors, parents, and other participants for attending. We would also like to thank the Sun Hut (Brunarica SONČEK) for treating the competitors and parents to delicious buhtlji pastries before the competition. Thanks to DARMAR for lending us the tube for "the raddest riders," and to the Krvavec RTC Ski Resort for the use of the slope. 4. Kids tour – Stari Vrh

On the last Sunday in February, we spent the day at Stari Vrh, where we participated in the fourth race of the Kids Tour series. This time, we competed in the banked slalom discipline. The course was quite challenging and extremely icy for the young competitors. During training, we even found ourselves in a situation where we had to walk the slope, as the ski lifts were not operating. Nevertheless, the children performed excellently and completed only one run due to the icy conditions. Alongside the Kids Tour race, the national championship for cadets was also taking place. Our instructors, Taja and Miha, participated in the competition and achieved excellent results.
